BETTER COVENANT

Father? Is it to know Jesus as our Grace? Is it to know that Jesus and not ourselves is our real life? Is it to know that there is a better self who is each of us and not the self who is pock -marked with shame, un-fulfilled hopes, bad decisions and un-kept resolutions? Is it that Christ is totally our life and that to see Jesus is to see our real self? The revelation that is Jesus is all of these and more.

What link in the chain between ourselves on earth and God in heaven is dependent on our performance? None. Paul’s words, ‘Christ our life’ express the vicarious humanity of Jesus in which Christ is all things in our relationship between ourselves and God.

Paul declares that Christ is our life. This means that Jesus is more than our model and an icon to copy. He personally, by the Spirit and mystery of godliness our real life. We may strive to be intimate with God in the knowledge that this is life. But it’s better than this. Jesus intimacy with His Father is our intimacy because Jesus is our life. Yet He is also the way. He is the way to the our Father and the way by which Father and Holy Spirit reside in our being. How hard is that? It’s not, because when we believe in Jesus the holy family make their home in us. And this does not depend on how hard we believe. It happens because HE BELIEVES and has rejoined the human race to its Beginning.

Francois Du Toit writes,

“In the light of Paul's revelation of the good news, we are left with one urgent priority, which is to announce to the nations with bold confidence the truth about their original identity and mirror-reflection of the integrity of their redeemed innocence.

This gives such clarity and content to the fact that Jesus came to the planet not to upgrade the cage of Judaism or any other religion by starting a new one called Christianity; but to be the incarnate voice of the likeness and image of God in human form! He came to reveal and redeem the image of God in us!
His mission was to mirror the blueprint of our design, not as an example for us
but of us! (Col 1:15,2:9, 10).

In God's faith, mankind is associated in Christ even before the foundation of the world. Jesus died humanity's death and when the stone was rolled away, we were raised together with him! Every human life is fully represented in him” (Hos 6:2).”
