BONES ALIVE

Knowing God as He is and knowing yourself as you comes through Jesus. We call this the ‘Jesus lens.’ Jesus and His accomplishments are the lens through which we interpret the Bible and perceive God. The Valley of Dead Bones is a prophetic picture of the new and living way of Christ our life breathed into the carcasses of those dead in the old covenant mode of the knowledge of good and evil. It’s a picture of those dead in Adam being raised to life in Jesus. If we are connected to the law by ideology and The Sabbath we are in Adam and only in Christ theoretically. We need to be in Him in spirit and in truth.

‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life’ Ezek 37.5 NIV.

Rudiments and skeletal principles for existing came through Moses according to the knowledge of good and evil. Paul called this the law of sin and death. The fullness of life in its infinite form came as grace and truth in the person of Jesus. This is why we leave the law behind to live in Christ.
To see Jesus is to see our Father. To know Jesus is to have God revealed. To live from a personal Jesus and fellowship with Him is to know life itself.

‘Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts! 2 Cor 3.7-11’ NIV.

Jesus reveals Father as He is and you as you are as a son/daughter of God.

We can live from the old covenant and law and be a rib-cage or Christ can be our life and we can be the sons of God.

We can do better than merely believe in God or have a generic God. To all intents and purposes this is akin to having no God, as is the mode of believing that God helps those who help themselves. In the latter case we have chosen to be our own god while consigning our Father to the realm of religion. If this is what we believe this is what we have. Even though we have a God who knows us, delights in us and wants to be a real part of our lives. There are Christians who live in the favour of a personal Father and adherents who live from the survival of the fittest.

We can know God through Jesus and the apostles teaching or we can have a version of God mediated to us through a false prophet and a ‘mish-mash’ of distorted teachings that mount up to a lie. Old covenant religion separates us from God and lies claiming to be truths bind people in spiritual death. The perversion of truth restricts fullness of life and a religious form of death. This is why ‘other gospels’ bring us under a curse.

Such religion can never nourish the kingdom of God. In human marriage God had forbidden us to separate what God has joined together. Yet in the new covenant marriage of Jesus and His people, Adventism has separated people from the already accomplished union with God in Christ by its stubborn insistence on old covenant living. This divorce takes place by re-establishing the law, denying the new covenant - or at least ignoring it - and making the incarnation a ghost rather than the reality of the New Testament age.

If one does not have the Holy Spirit in spirit and in truth one must create a new form of life of one’s own – like the health message. Sadly one can refrain from eating meat and still be immersed in the flesh!

Adventism began with a mistake and reinvented itself with a series of specious rationalisations. Ellen White/Adventist exegesis of the scriptures is a pretence looking for legitimacy. It wrestles and wrangles scripture out of a new and living way into an old and dead way. Then relies on flaky theologians for its distinctives.

In a strange way many are proud of their woodenness and lack of spiritual authority – as were the scribes who had none of the kind Jesus deployed. Many are ingenious in rationalising the rays of light that come to them to support their heretical notions. They do this unconsciously – not because they are bad folks but because they have been brain-washed with bad doctrine and deceived by the spirit of anti-christ. So subtle is this deceit that intelligent and learned people have succumbed to its delusion and spent their lives promoting a message that came from the heart of darkness as though it is a light for these times. Tragically, many good people have given their lives in the promotion of a furphy. There are droplets of life here due to grace but never life without limit. Jesus can bring life and light to all who will receive Him. But to resist the Holy Spirit of truth leaves us in a parlous position and defines us as tares.
