There are some distortions of the new and living way that neutralize what Jesus did for us. In one the old covenant is lived with Jesus’ help. In another it is lived in mixture. Both leaves us in shadows and leech the life out of Christ in you. Christianity is not plucking bits out of the Bible and attempting to live them. Christianity of the Kingdom kind is Christ our life. This saying of Paul’s expressed the new covenant and defines the agency of incarnation which is the essence of post cross living.

Most annulments of the cross and its power derive from confusion about what God as done for us in Christ. Much of the culture of institutional Christianity – a knowledge of good and evil under the umbrella of ‘What Christians must do’ is far less than our inheritance as sons. It leaves us as workers and slaves with Hagar the slave woman.

‘These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar’ Gal 4.24 NIV.

Many Believers have learned to live in this life, as though this is godly. But it is not our life in God, not the new and living way and is actually a dumbing down of a life that is Christ from first to last. The unhappy result is that many are sons and daughters in theory but not in practice. But with Christ as our life we are sons in spirit and in truth.

The sign of Christ our life as our new and living way is spontaneity. There is nothing contrived in genuine godliness. No reading bits of the Bible and willing them into existence through self-discipline. Our sense of being, our thoughts and actions are the spontaneous effect of Christ in us by the Spirit.

The solution is not to be more Christ-like. It is to let Him be Himself in us. Just agree with Him and His Spirit will manifest in you!

Another dilution of new creation living involves the notion of love. This is the supposition that since we have seen Christ and beheld the love of God in Him, we will respond. We will now love God and obey Him. No we won’t. Our motivation and love for Jesus is not that strong!

Some think that we will now love Him so much that we will keep the law and do all those things that we church-goers are socialized to expect to do as ‘good Christians.’ But our resolve is insufficient and our performance spotty.

We are incapable of such love motivated obedience. This too is not the gospel of the Kingdom. None of us have that kind of resolve and all of us are prone to love what we are intent on doing more than we love Jesus. Love for Jesus is something we cannot work up. But we can agree that His person and His life is our life. There is no link between ourselves and God that depends on our performance. Not one. If there were we would be undone. All is covered in His union with God as us and for us. This is the
vicarious humanity of Christ. Jesus is everything concerning your person towards God and God towards your person.

Obedience and performance is not the bottom line. Law is not the bottom line. His life and performance in place of you is the bottom line. This is your security in Christ.

‘He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit’ Titus 3.5 NIV.

Being drawn into God is
the new and living way that we can agree to. Connected to Father, through Jesus, we partake of His love, His life and His purpose for us. He is His life for us!
Seated in Father’s heart we live in our identity and the things we are constrained to do, by the Spirit of Sonship alive in our being. We do this because His Spirit is in us and manifests as us. Today you are the expression of Christ - when you are not living in the law or ‘try harder’ mode.

The sad thing for many is that the more they try harder in the law the more they suffocate Christ in them - which is the scheme of the Father of Lies. But you have a place in Father and with the trinity that is yours forever on account of Jesus. In the Spirit you are with the Holy Family. In the incarnation the Holy Family is in you.

‘The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for
he lives with you and will be in you’ John 14.17 NIV.

Today in spirit and in truth we manifest the glory of God. Because we are the sons and daughters of God, expressing Him and ourselves in the world of family and work. Drawn into the presence of God we become who we are: Living stones in His house and the multiplication of His Sons in the world. This is so because Christ is more than the means to life. He is our life. In beholding Jesus we see who we are. There is the gospel of the Kingdom that is real and the ‘other gospel’ that many of us have been conditioned to believe that is false, faulty and ungenerous. It’s a product of the Thief.

Note well what follows.

“Whatever obedience is required of us, we already have the obedience of Jesus to empower us. I don't have to be obedient in order to be accepted by Jesus. By the Holy Spirit I'm brought into the life of Jesus in his obedience - it empowers me, is the motive for my own obedience. That's the difference between simply preaching legalism and conditional obedience as to the grace of Christ. The grace of Christ is not freedom from obedience, it's a gracious obedience given to us to empower us … Whatever is required of us by God, has been accepted and fulfilled by us by God himself on our behalf.”
