You will not enjoy real Godliness from inside the Adventist bubble. It's a frame that distorts grace and makes a caricature of sanctification. There is no whole person approach in Adventism because law gospels of the letter are innately dead.
Bad Christian belief is at best discouraging and at worst accusatory. The Believer cannot be denied oneness with God on account of secret sins, known sins or general imperfection. Not if his/her belief is in the Christ of God and not some legalistically manufactured christ.
ENTIRE HUMANITY
Christian Kettler writes, "The nature of Christ's vicarious work is not simply one moment on the cross, but his entire life, so that the entirety of our lives might be affected. The Word took on the entirety of humanity, body and soul, in order to save the entire human...” Kettler explains further, “The vicarious humanity of Christ speaks of the deep interaction between Christ's humanity and our humanity at the level of our being, the ontological level. So the atoning work of Christ is neither simply a means by which we are declared righteous by God, nor simply a demonstration of God's love. It is both, but much more, in the sense of God desiring to recreate our humanity at the deepest levels, addressing our needs and fears, our doubts from within our very being." So it’s not about ticking boxes. But it is about Christ our life.
A legalised Christ does not produce a ‘whole person’ life. It shrinks the soul disintegrates the being and undoes one’s humanity in the name of a bent gospel.
SIN CONSCIOUSNESS NOT THE GOSPEL
Your sins cannot separate you from God. You are joined to God forever in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. If you are a Believer, you are always joined to God and part of the Family of Heaven. It is our confidence to approach and enjoy God that is stifled by our sins and also by bad doctrine. If we think our acceptance is conditional or even partly dependent on ourselves and our performance, we limit our enjoyment of God, of being with Father and also our victory over the sins that beset us. Having said this, the bottom line is not our victory but His. True victory is living in the complete efficacy of Jesus for the entirety of our being and doing.
CHRIST YOUR LIFE IS ALL OF YOUR LIFE
‘It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption’ 1 Cor 1.30 NIV.
The robber schemes to see that our communication is limited because our ideas of communion have been distorted by ignorance or captivity to false doctrine. But it is these kinds of ploys from which Jesus lives to set captives free. This is the Isaiah 61 message.
‘He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners’ Isaiah 61.1 NIV.
HIS LIFE IS YOUR LIFE
It is important to press into and take your place in God’s embrace no matter how ashamed you are or frustrated you may be with your returning to the same old, same old sins. Refuse to let the reality of your sinning stifle your communication and enjoyment of the reality of His total acceptance and love.
Your union with God is assured. Communicate and share your life with Him on the basis of this guarantee. Don’t pretend to be what you are not. He heals you from what you are. Advance into His provision and His love. This is walking by faith and not by sight. It is the reality of His presence over time that separates you from all that is dark and burdensome.
Father says your place in Him is determined, not at all by you, but entirely by the achievement and life of His Son. Our intimacy with Jesus is not found in our success as an Overcomer. It is found in the fact that Jesus has overcome our alienation, our sins and the world. We are intimate with Jesus because He has already drawn us into Himself.
VICARIOUS HUMANITY OF JESUS
When Jesus died He paid the penalty for the sin of the world, for us as sinners and for our individual and numerous sins. You are crucified in your entirety in Christ – not in bits and pieces. You never have to pine over sins you cannot remember. All is covered because Jesus died for you the person and the life!
We are one with God. But our confidence and communication is affected by our doctrine, by what we believe God has done for us and on how we see ourselves on account of this. Bad theology will result in bad communication due the faulty basis of our communion. A distorted account of the origins of sin, the nature of God and the plan of salvation will spoil our sense of innocence, freedom, joy and access to the limitless fullness of Jesus in us.
The beauty of selling all we have to buy the treasure in the field is that there is now no link in the chain of being in union with God that depends on us.
Your treasure is union with God. Your possession of that treasure depends on right belief. It is your possession whether you know it or not. But you must embrace it to enjoy it. A wrong message results in our inability to grasp what is ours. The children of the slave woman and of the free woman have equal access to their sonship, authority and spirit-life in God. But the sons of the free woman alone participate in this inheritance. The sons of Hagar do not. Why? Not because the inheritance of the Spirit of Sonship is not theirs. But because their understanding is blocked, their vision is blurred, their gospel is distorted and they are unable to participate in the communion that is theirs because of wrong belief.
In The Power of Right Believing, Joseph Prince demolishes the intimidation and paralysis that stifles the communion of many with God. He reveals the truth and power of the new covenant and the reality of our acceptance and full embrace of all of us by our Father. You cannot afford to live in lesser gospels because they result in a lesser you. They inhibit the advance of the new creation and the Kingdom of God.
‘May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God’ Eph 3.19 NLT.
